CONARPESA has decided to strengthen its operations in Puerto Rosales
The fishing company CONARPESA has decided to strengthen its operations in Puerto Rosales, reaching a total of 5 operational vessels out of a fleet of 14 vessels, thus stablishing a strategic point of operations at the local maritime station.
This significant decision underlines the company’s intention to take advantage of the geographical location and the favorable conditions offered by Puerto Rosales compared to other ports in the province of Chubut.
“When we decided to build the future, we were referring to this: working to enhance the value of our local infrastructure so the companies will choose us and thus generate more production and more local jobs”, said Rodrigo Aristimuño, president of the Management Consortium of Puerto Rosales.
In June 2022, CONARPESA formalized its commitment with Puerto Rosales trough the sign of an agreement to invest 148 million pesos in vital infrastructure, including the construction of plants intended for supplies storage, offices, a fire network, concrete esplanades to connect to the dock and a lightning system. This investment effort also positions the company as a central figure in the development of shrimp fishing in the Argentinian Patagonia.
As well as its 22 fishing vessels fleet, including 12 freezing outrigger trawlers specialized in shrimp fishing and immediate processing, CONARPESA stands out due to its active participation and contribution to the local level.
The operations in Puerto Rosales not only allow optimum accessibility to catch and exportation areas, but also provide a strategic location for naval repairs and fleet tunings during biological shutdowns.
“We have been working since 1977 and our Group maintains the desire to excel that has characterized it for so many years. Here we are and here we will be. We will keep on working everyday with enthusiasm, determination, dedication and professionality, with the aim of continuing to provide the best service and quality to all of our customers”, said Fernando Álvarez Castellano, chairman of the board of directors of CONARPESA.
Puerto Rosales has registered 270.6 tons of unloaded raw fish this year, positioning itself as the penultimate port in the province of Buenos Aires in terms of unloading. With the arrival of 4 additional ships and 10 more coming soon, the aim is to significantly increase the movement and activity at the port terminal located in the South of the province of Buenos Aires.
This significant increase in CONARPESA’s operations in Puerto Rosales will not only strengthen the company’s presence and operations in the region. It is also expected to boost the local economy, generating more production and employment for residents.
